review: post your thoughts in the review---------------------------------------------------------------------- ok,unfortunately my stories on bzpower di not get the attention I thought they'd get... so now I'm going to start fresh with an informational text at the beginning of each chapter.before the chapter title.  all characters that will be added in the chapter will be explained in this infotext ;)all rahi/plants/and other things will also be explained aswell. father, you wanted to speak with me?
yes,nuwie. come sit with me.I was thinking yesterday that you will soon be turning 18...and that you will be old enough to take the thrown when it is my time. you have learned much in your years but you still have much more to learn.
I am going to tell you a story about someone I used to know ,during my childhood.
father, is it neccessary to tell me now? my friends and I are planning to walk the edge of the shores today.
your friends will understand,I'm sure they are capable of walking on there own.
this story is about a child named otua. on the outside , he was just a regular tohunga like everyone else , he too had friends that he played with during his free time but , he had a dark secret...that no one else knew about,he worked for a great evil spirit called the makuta.
otua always wanted to be the best and would do anything to become the best,he wanted power which was why he worked for the makuta , to slowly gain the power that he wanted.
why would otua want makuta's dark energy running through him? that would only cloud his mind with darkness and confuse him between good and bad.
that ,even he did not know... all he knew was that he could get power... and that was the only important thing to him,except for one other thing.
what was it?
he wanted to be noticed by a girl ... this girl meant everything to him, even his own life.what was her name father?
her name was feri. she was the most kind, beautiful girl in all of matanui. everyone wanted to be at her side.
and this is where I shall begin.-

in the beginning of our story ,otua and his friend ,mangu are playing a game of noki-kohlii in gawahi at the beech.
ok mangu! here it comes!!
I got it otua! oh! OUF! hey!
I thought you said you had it mangu? heheh!
shutup otua! you kicked the kohliiball too high!
you always say that you'll get it and you never do! even when I roll it to you... I thought you said you were a master at this mangu?
well,I lied!~
AAAAARRRRRRRR!! !!
what was that!?!
the sound that otua and mangu heard was a tarakava!
the tarakava had snuck up beside the two friends while they were playing ...apparently this tarava was very angry,unknowingly,the two boys had been playing beside the mother tarakava's eggs and she was trying to protect them .
oh no! it's going to stirke!!
the boys jumped out of the way of the tarakava's huge fist and began to run for their boxors.
mangu! is it following us!?!
mangu looked behind him,
AAH! yes,, let's get to the boxors to fight it off!
the boys hopped into their boxors and otua yelled to mangu:
I need you to act as a decoy,mangu! while I get up these rocks and toss some boulders at the rahi!
Why am I always the decoy?! why can't you be the decoy this time!?
because! my boxor can hold more strain than yours! I can get up their faster than you! now keep it busy!
AAAAARRGG!!
the tarakava rampaged after mangu with it's fist fliing everywhere.
almost got it! eeeeerrrrrggghaa!!look out below!!!
otua pushed the boulder off the edge of the rocky wall and tumbled on the tarakava's head
asta la vista! rahi!
you got it otua! nice shot!
yeah I know...now we gotta bring it to ga-koro to make sure it is ok.
uhoh, don't look now otua! but it looks like yer girlfriend,feri is coming to congradulate you on your victory !
otua hits mangu on the side of his head with his boxor claw-
shutup mangu! that's not funny!
what did you two do!!??
it was attacking us.we had to do something.
you didn't have to through a boulder on her head! she was protecting her nest! she thought you were going to steel one of her eggs!
the boys glanced at one another in silence and then looked back at where they were playing ... they saw the tarakava's nest ontop of the tall rocks on the beach.
oh, er ,ur, uh... well, um will she be ok?
yes , but no thanks to you two!help me bring her into ga-koro and then tell nokama what you two did!
the boys brought the tarakava into ga-koro and reluctently went to nokama's hut.
luckily for the boys, nokama wasn't in her hut ,so the boys ran back to their boxors and began to sneak off when another tarakava appeared!
UUUUURRRGAAR!!
do you suppose we're going to get in trouble for this one too?
well,probably not if we stay away from it. c'mon, before feri sees us here. she probably doesn't even like me at all now, I don't need her thinking that I'm trying to hurt the tarakava for no reason.
the tarakava goes back into it's nest but kept a close eye on where otua and mangu went.
oh, so you do like her! ah ha,I knew it! if it werent for the fact that I don't want to get in trouble with nokama, I would go back there and tell her that. just so I could see what she does!
otua's eyes turned to a firey red,
shutup or I'll hit you in the head again!

otua and mangu were walking back to le-koro when suddenly they smelled smoke coming from the direction of the village. mangu and otua drove their boxors as fast as they could go to reach le-koro and when they reached the village what they thought happened...did!
le-koro had begun to burn and the fires were spreading very rapidly!
mangu said to otua:
oh no! otua we have to put the fires out! quick let's get the ga-cannons for the boxors!
the le-koronans were already down and out of the village and were safe, none of them spoke,only stared at their houses as they burned up in flames.
otua and mangu attached the ga-cannons and used the water from the swamps to put out the fire.
I think we almost got it! the fires are dying down,you keep the water on the fire and I'll climb up there and see if there is anyone else up there
you do that! I'll get some of my fellow koronans to help!!
otua jumped out of his boxor and began to climb the side of the tree.
when otua reached the top he stepped on a small glowing insect.
otua looked at his foot and realized that it was a firefly !
oh! so that's what started the fire! hmm...
otua looked back up and found a large pillar of fireflies forming a pillar of fire and heading straight at otua!
the hotos buzzed:bbbzzzzzzzz!!
down on the ground ,itoku said:
very darktime fire is! mangu and meho from outside village brave! we must help mangu!!
thank you itoku! send journeyman on groundpath to ga-koro! tell them to send ga-boxors with water!
I send fito, he highjump leaf-runner. he get help fast.
good! fito! get help! go!,go!go!
I already gone now!
back topside, otua was running around , trying to escape the hotos.
aaaaaahhhhhh!!! mata nui- foresaken pests! I had enough of this!
otua stops running and turns toward the fireflies and says :
pyro-sphere!
suddenly just before the hotos caught up to otua, a large sphere of fire surrounded him and all of the fireflies were vaporized as soon as they touched the sphere.
hm, that's different. the boss must of really been pleased with the job I did last night.
while otua stood and watched the hotos explode as they beaned the surface of the sphere ,when suddenly a voice spoke to otua:
otua!...
master!? where are you?
that is of no concern! why are you trying to stop this?!! you must let the fires spread to destroy this village, before the toanuva arrive!!
but master! this is my friends home! I couldn't just sit back and watch it burn! if I did, then someone might have become suspicious of what I am doing and find that I am working for you!
I tried to warn you with the hoto but you destroyed my entire army with the powers that I gave to you!
master, I'm sorry I didn't know that they were yours! please forgive me master!
perhaps my hoto swarms bestowed enough damage to le-koro to make the tohunga fallback enough so that I may mustur something else up to defiet the other village!
yes master ,I believe it will ! I will send a group of my jolo-nui to the other koros so the other villages will fall back too!
you do that! I will expect you to report to my lair tomorrow night! now go! be the hero for your useless kind! then send the jolo-nui swarms!
yes master!
otua serveyed the area of le-koro that was still burning to look for anyone that was left behind.
he found one!
a young girl ,about mangu's age(13) was trapped under a branch that had burnt it's way off of one of the trees.
the young le-koronan stared at otua for a few seconds before closing her eyes. she had been breathing in the smoke for nearly 3 minutes and was about to faint.
otua saw what was happening and was about to run to her ,when another branch fell from the trees above and landed infront of him.
otua was just out of reach of the girl when the branch fell , otua was now getting annoyed by the fire and he suddenly became enraged and leaped over the burning branch.
after doing so he lifted the branch off of the girl and threw it as far as he could.
(he threw it so far that it landed in the swamp below the treetops where otua and the girl were.
otua picked up the girl and carried her down the side of the tree and laid her on the ground.
she was still breathing,just drowsy from the smoke.
the girl's parents ran over to her and thanked otua for saving her.
the ga-koro boxor squad arrived and began blasting water from ga-wahi up onto the last of the burning le-koro and eventually put it out.
otua stayed with the le-koronans for a few hours after dark and helped rebuild some of the village.
every time that otua would pass by the girl he saved earlier would watch him untill he was out of sight again.
mangu noticed this and spoke with otua:
you know otua, that girl you saved seems to be rather interested in you now.
yeah ,I noticed.
maybe you should go talk to her before you leave.-
what do you say to someone after a situation like that?
I don't know, just ask her if she is ok.stuff like that.
oh, I don't know how to talk to girls anyway...it's like they have their own language ,or something.
otua hopped in his boxor and drove off to ta-koro.

otua leaves his father's hut early the next morning in order to wake the jolo-nui.
while he was walking through le-wahi,the girl that he saved from the fire spotted him from a short distance away.
the girl desided to follow otua through the bushes.
ok,do I remember where they are?...otua looked around for a flag that he left behind to find the jolo-nui hives when he heard a russle in the leaves. he quickly turned around to see what the noise was but only found a kikiti pecking the ground for some worms to eat.
ah ha,just a bird.
otua returned to looking for the marker flag and walked a little ways up the trail, he found the flag posted ontop of an ant hill.
there you are...
otua said to himself... as he walked into a small cave opening that went underneath a fallen tree's roots.
imflamage!
otua shouted when he entered the cave.
suddenly a large blaze of flames came out of otua's hands.
that's better... jolo-nui! arrise from your chambers!!
you are being summoned by your master! arrise!!
just as otua spoke, a large swarm of flying spiderlike creatures came out of a darkened part of the cave.
the girl that had been following otua stuck her head into the cave entrance to see what was happening, and got quite a fright.
the jolo-nui came out of the cave and began to swarm around her rapidly beating their razor-like wings on the girl.
the le-koronan fell to the ground in pain from the battering and the horrible creaching from the wings of the jolo-nui.
STOP!!
the jolo-nui suddenly stopped swarming and became suspended in midair.
the girl looked up at otua as otua glared down at her.
what are you doing here?!!
the girl didn't speak, infact she couldn't speak!because she was born mute.

the girl just continued to stare at otua until he pulled her up.
then otua said to her:<(~")>
go back to the others... don't tell anyone about this ! never follow me again! or you may not be so lucky!
the girl slowly backed away keeping her eye on otua the whole way and then she turned and ran away.
master... do you want us to follow-
no! leave her go. I have awakened you for more important things. get into onu-koro
from the onu/po-wahi border gate, there I want you to kidnap the turaga and hold him in your hive.
after you have successfully captured whenua,gaurd all tunnels and gateways so that no one can escape.
then wait for my signal to return to your chambers.
yes master we shall commence immediately.
the jolo-nui swarm leader translated otua's orders and
they flew off to onu-koro.
as the jolo-nui flew away,otua called upon his juso-bird and rode the bird to makuta's lair.

good,now I want you to take this cealet and pour the contents near every koro ...then when it is empty, destroy the cealet with the power I gave you.

a little bird told me today, that you were seen by one of your useless kind. did you deal with the annoyance accordingly?

otua took the cealet and poured some of the contents right outside of every koro and when the cealet was empty,he destroyed it and went to le-koro to get the girl,but when he reached the campsite where the le-koronans were staying while le-koro was rebuilt mangu noticed him and said to him:
otua!your back!
huh!?eerh uh, yeah! I'm back for a little while...do you know what that girl's name is?
why? did you finally decide to talk to her? not so interested in feri anymore?!!?
hey! shutup about that!I still like feri,it's just that I have to talk to her. now, what was her name?!!?!!
her name was kikei

otua marched away from mangu as if he was in a transe!
otua eventually found kikei and asked her to walk with him around the forest.although she seemed a little nervous, she came along anyway because she thought that she would be able to ask him about the jolo-nui.

otua tried to say stuff to kikei but had little thought rattling in his head . only that he had to get her to makuta somehow.
suddenly kikei stopped and said something in sign language to otua.
otua watched her hands to try and translate and what he got out of it was:
why did you want ot walk with me?
and why were you so angry when I followed you to those bugs?
otua thought for a moment to think up a story.
I wasn't angry ,I just didn't know what I was supposed to do and I wanted to walk with you so I could...eerhh...uh, so I could apologise. I'm sorry.
you didn't tell anyone about the jolo-nui did you?[/color
she signed:
no-
good... you can't tell anyone about them because it could cause a lot of trouble for me.
if anyone found out I could be ruined for good!
kikei signed:
why would you get in trouble?
how did you make the jolo-nui stop swarming around me just by teling them to stop?... is there something your hiding?
well, no...yes,errh, uh.... the jolo-nui were given to me by the person I work for .and I would get in trouble if anyone found out about who I'm working for.
that's what I'm hiding.

otua's eyes turned darkred, and his muscles started to stiffen and enlarge to about 11/2 times there original size.
errh!.... if you want to know...eerh, just come with me!.....eerh! no! I won't do this now!-
otua's body size had suddenly shrunk back to normal just as it had grown a few seconds before.
I'm sorry that you had to see that kikei...*gasp* ... sometimes that happens whenI get over-emotional.
kikei had fallen down and crawled behind a rock in fright after otua changed.

it was something I was born with ...a curse! just like my work!

if you want to know who I got the jolo-nui from ,then follow me!!
kikei thought for a moment and then signed to otua:
I don't want to go with you--
then I'm afraid I'll have to take you anyway...
otua grabbed kikei and carried her to makuta's lair,while kikei kicked and punched him trying to free herself from his grip.
all of her attempts failed and eventually she was to tired to bother running even if she did get away.
otua carried kikei clear to the outside of makuta's lair and then he laid her down on the ground because she had fallen asleep after otua used a sleeping spell on her.
otua walked into the cave entrance and waited for a fikou to appear.
when the fikou climbed down it's web to where otua's face was. the spider spoke in a minionised voice:
the master has been waiting... I will tellhim that you have arrived.
after a few short moments,the fikou returned and said to otua:
take the girl , I will bring you to the master.
otua followed the fikou down the long ,winding,dark tunnel to the center of the cave where makuta was.
